This Week's Releases - 18/2/08

PALGN Feature | Undeniably unreal.
This week, action games seem to be the genre of choice with three big-name titles hitting shelves. First up is Conflict: Denied Ops on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The latest game in the Conflict series makes the transition from third to first person, and puts players in the role of two covert soldiers tasked with quelling a rebel uprising. For more info on Conflict: Denied Ops, check out our recent hands-on preview of the game. The next war-themed title being released is Advance Wars: Dark Conflict on the Nintendo DS, and to round out the week, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to engage in numerous multiplayer shootouts in Unreal Tournament III.

Castlevania fans will be glad to know that Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles on the PlayStation Portable is finally seeing a local release. Meanwhile, those more inclined to cooking can pick up Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends on the Nintendo DS, which features over 150 recipes.

Finally, Wii owners can embark on a quest to become the ultimate pirate in Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, which is promising around 40 hours of gameplay, or test their skills and patience in the block-building game Jenga.

haven't seen it anywhere

$120 for Unreal is insane. I can't believe they are still putting PS3 games forward in the 110-120 market.

No doubt JB will do it for much much less though.

Damn, I didn't realise Zack and Wiki was going to be out so soon...

Zack & Wiki, and Dracula X Chronicles! Blast and damnation, I can barely afford one of those, let alone both. I suppose Castlevania will just have to wait... *sigh*

Where would be the cheapest place to get Zack and Wiki?

JB Hifi or potentially the weekly Thursday specials.

Or you can just import Dracula X Chronicles from overseas, should set you back under A$45 from ebay for a US version, beats the $79.95 RRP here icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif

Show off.

I think I'll get Zack and Wiki as well. I keep hearing all these positive comments about it, mind you I'm not expecting it to be the greatest thing since... Err... Mario 64, but that will help me enjoy it more as it won't have too much to live up to.

Here's hopes someone has it on sale for $80 (besides Toys R Us, since I can't be bothered traveling into town).

Isn't $80 the RRP? It didn't sell for full price in the US.

DVDCrave has the RRP at $99.95.

They are selling it for ~$88, less 10% using the "february" code (until the 25th).

Ha... I'd forgotten about that. I don't remember the last time I bought a full priced PSP release locally. Guess I'd just kind of assumed that our prices had fallen into line with the US. Which was stupid of me.
