POTW Results: The Christmas game glut

PALGN News | It's the retailer's season.
Last week, anticipating the number of major videogame releases between now and Christmas, we asked how many games you were planning on shelling out for. Well, the numbers are in, and it seems it's a good time to be working in retail: almost 150 of you - that's about 45 percent of voters - are planning on buying five or more titles before December 25. If you listen carefully, you can hear the cash registers chiming already.

I'd be one of those losers. Nothing really interests me.

People that have different financial priorities or those with no money possibly? Not everyone is loaded.

The people who said none probably own a Wii. I'm not having a go or anything but there is seriously NOTHING good coming for it this year, while the PS3 and 360 have almost too much.

De Blob and Warioland where released just last week for it and I think Disaster: Day of Crisis is due soon.

De Blob is absolutey amazing.

Then you have some multi plat games for it, eg Guitar Hero World Tour, Sonic Unleashed, COD World at War, etc.

So there is a few good titles coming out.

But I do agree.....the 360 has to many games coming.

I would, I'm traveling overseas pre-christmass, and staying there for the forseeable future. No need for games when i doubt i will take my 360, or a desktop. (none of the games i want for PC will come close to playing on the laptop i'm taking with me)

im personally not too interested in any of the upcoming releases. dont really believe im a loser just focusing on my current collection and working at diverting my funds to a more useful outcome at this period of time.

the only games off the top of my head that i am even remotely interested in at the moment are skate 2 and maybe fallout 3 but they arent going to sell out and will still be available when i can afford them and have knocked off some of the more pressing titles i have on the shelf at the moment.

Just because people do not plan on buying anything during the Christmas season doesn't mean they're "losers".

That's a big call to make, and it pretty baseless.

There are many reasons why people may not purchase, e.g. not interested in the current games, already have many games

No offence but I'd think you'd be more of a loser if you bought around the 5 mark rather than if you purchased none at all. 0 games to me is like having no fun and 5 games is like having no life imo.

I think I might purchase 2, LittleBigPlanet definitely and maybe something else ^^ Probably Resistance...yeah thats the stuff.

wowowowow you guys who plan on buying 5+ games much have a really good job cause that be alot of cash... I'm too poor to buy that many XD Plus I'd never have the time to play that many!!!!

I also missed this poll but i would've voted "5 or more":

FIFA 09
Saints Row 2
PES 09
Fable 2
Far Cry 2
Midnight Club Los Angeles
Fallout 3
Gears of War 2
Call Of Duty: World at War
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (and Banjo Kazooie on XBL Arcade)

All for 360.

The same losers who seem to have umpteen times more respect than your fine self obviously. Perhaps you'd like to explain to the class why people possibly saving to finance their futures should throw away their fiscal policies for entertainment?

Housing... games.... housing... games.. housing... I know where my loser priorities are.

only 2 for me Socom confrontation and resistance 2
