POTW Results: Are you a fanboy?

PALGN News | Too close to call.

For the first time in the PALGN Poll of the Week, we have a dead heat. Last week, we asked our readers if they considered themselves that most reviled of terms: a fanboy.

Results are split almost exactly down the middle, with 135 voting 'yes', and 136 voting 'no'. Interesting results by anyone's measure.

Most people would consider me a nintendo fanboy, because if you look in my room you will find every single nintendo console that ever existed, however, im not biased to just nintendo, it just has and probably always will be the cheaper option in the next gen of consoles.

Having said that though, i do own a PS2, and alot of the games on both 360 and PS3 interest me, and id really like to make an investment in one of those, which one however is the debate that's taking too long to settle.

So saying im a nintendo fanboy is far from the truth, i may love nintendo, but im not nintendo exclussive when i play video games, that's why i voted no

I dunno if I'd call it a dead heat. It was 136 to 135. That's a HUGE win to the non-fanboys!

I think a lot of gamers use to be fanboys and would defend a certain console/pc to the death. Now there is a desire for them all.

I have supported a particular console initially in each generation but then I have ended up owning every one of them for particular reasons in the end. (Probably would have bought them all to begin with if it wasn't for the $$$)

In contrast, I still believe that certain genres benefit from the interface. Therefore, RTS are only good on PC and if you want to be the best FPSer you need a mouse. Gamepads do not come close to competing with the keyboard and mouse config. 3rd person or platform gaming belongs to the gamepad.

I know I'm a Sony man despite the fact I know the 360 is a better console. I used to own a 360 but eventually the Blu Ray capability and draw of its possibilities moved me towards the PS3, which I now own and have sold my 360. I also owned a Wii but got bored with that and it's gone too. I've loved the PS3 ever since I got it, and adored the PS2, which I think is the best console ever. Before that, I had a 64 and a SNES. The Gamecube turned me off Nintendo quite a bit.

I don't think I'm a fanboy, I just really like the PS3 and loved the PS2. I think it's fair enough, because I've tried them all and that's just my preference.

I remember the day when i used to be a Sony Fanboy. Than they decided to change there mind on a world wide release for the ps3 so i said **** it and went out and bought a 360 instead hahaha. Mind you i have all the consoles but yeah use to be a sony fanboy. thoses were the days.
