Rockstar reveals Red Dead Redemption

PALGN News | Wild West shooter fun.
Rockstar has taken the wraps off Red Dead Redemption, the sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver, released on the PS2 and Xbox.

Like its predecessor, Redemption will be set in the Wild West at the turn of the 20th century. Naturally, lots of crime will be happening, as lawlessness begins to falter thanks to government expansion and the beginning of the Industrial Age. Players will take control of former outlaw, John Marston, as he no doubt attempts to foil some sort of evildoer. We expect there will be lots of shooting involved.

The game is in development at Rockstar San Diego, who are in the process of creating a Wild West-themed open world using the company's RAGE engine for players to explore. There will be towns, 'rolling prairies' (complete with wildlife) and an awful lot of distractions in between, apparently.

Red Dead Redemption is scheduled for a release in the third quarter of this year. We've thrown the first images from the game into the media panel, if you're interested.

Red Dead Revlover is an awesome game. Basically like a very very simple Resident Evil 4 type game set in the wild west. Awesome classic boss battles too. If you love shooters, 3rd person or on-rails....you'll absolutely love this.

Can't wait for this sequel....I suspect it's the sequel....might go read the article now and see what all this is about.

A cowboy game... my dad would love that, except he can't even work a DVD player, let alone a games console. Oh well!
