inFamous releasing May 26

PALGN News | Out in the US in just over a month.
The official Playstation Blog has announced that Sucker Punch's inFamous will now release on May 26 in the United States, in advance of its previously-touted "June 2009" date.

The game sees players take on the role of Cole, a courier who survives a devastating accident and wakes to learn that he is in possession of devastating electricity-based superhuman powers.

The blog also touts the fact that exclusive pre-order bonuses will be made available to those who lay down their cash at participating US retailers. One would hope and expect that similar pre-order deals will be offered in PAL territories.

Further, a demo for inFamous is set to become available on May 21 over the Playstation Network, so players everywhere can find out whether the developers of the Sly Cooper franchise have again struck gold in advance of the game's release.

No PAL release date has been announced as yet, but one expects that the game will release locally not too long after its US debut. PALGN will have more information on the release of inFamous in the coming weeks.

There is going to be an EB exclusive special edition, but I don't know what's in it yet.

I'm sure Sony is releasing the game early to avoid any conflicts with Prototype, which was also scheduled for June.

Every video I've seen of this game consists of the guy throwing the same ball of lighting in the same animation over and over and over... and over. Can't say I'm too impressed really.

Keeping my eye on this, but I don't how the end product is going to turn out. It looks pretty good but I really don't know if the game is going to turn out fun or play well.

i just have a huge feeling it will be good for the first couple of hours, then just become very repetitive. (just a feeling)

I have a really good feeling about this one.. may be a bit TOO repetitive in terms of super-powers (not necessarily in a bad way but more like Assassins Creed), but its a first-week purchase for me anyway.

Yuh, just from all the previews, I reckon this game will be good. The mission seem fairly varied from what I've read. I reckon it will be an awesome open world game. Day one for me.

'Celebratory' digipack packaging? What does that even mean?

A digipack is those folding cardboard CD case things you usually get with special edition music CDs.

OK, never heard of it.

I wouldn't think too many people buy stuff like this just for "celebratory digipack packaging". Strange that it gets its own bullet point.
