"Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009," stated the spokesperson. "This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers."
The game, slated to hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, is a third-person action title with stealth, combat and exploration elements which pits Batman against his rogues gallery in the confines of the infamous Arkham Asylum, which has been seized by the Joker.
The suggested revised release date of "end of summer 2009" suggests that the title will ship sometime in the third quarter of 2009.
We hope that the delay means that the game's developer, Rocksteady Studios, is polishing the title to a fine sheen, because the title definitely has the potential to be the best Batman videogame adaptation ever, a notion that Eidos Interactive itself is keen to propagate.
