Capcom reveals E3 line-up, almost

PALGN News | Two 'mystery' games to be revealed at event.
With less than a month until E3 is held in Los Angeles, Capcom has revealed the games they will be showcasing at this year’s event. All, that is, except for two ‘mystery’ games. One of the games will be playable at E3, and other other will be announced at a press conference sometime during the three-day gaming extravagenza.

As part of its line-up, Capcom will be showcasing the highly-anticipated sequels Lost Planet 2, and Dead Rising 2, as well as the PC version of Street Fighter 4. The full list includes:

Dark Void (PS3, 360, PC)
Lost Planet 2 (currently 360, PC)
Dead Rising 2 (will be "behind closed doors")
Spyborgs (Wii)
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles (Wii)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP)
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (digital release for PS3, 360)
Fate Unlimited Codes (digital PSP release)
Street Fighter IV (PC)
Bionic Commando (PC)
Mega Man Star Force 3 (DS)
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil (Wii)
Capcom Mystery Game #1 (playable in booth)
Capcom Mystery Game #2 (announced at a press conference)

We'll keep you updated with all the E3 news as it comes to hand.

Can someone please explain to me the logic around behind closed doors screenings at a press event? Isn't the whole point of stuff like E3 to advertise your games and show them too as many people as possible?

Also that's an awesome line up, so many games there I'm pumped for.

I'm assuming that they will still have a pess embargo up at the time or something of the sort. I'm guessing they'll have a demo of the game running and are letting the press have a go at it so they can get their previews written up for us the people, you know so they can create some more hype for the game.

Benza - I'm not sure if I'm completely correct here, but usually closed door is reserved for games that haven't been 'polished' yet. The idea being that a lot of regular gamers will be turned off because the graphics aren't all pretty and the bugs not ironed out yet. I guess the theory is that you don't want people in the general public to bag your game for being ugly and buggy when it's only in early stages of development.

Or I could be completely wrong.

Mystery titles, huh. Let me be the first to take a guess. A new Oniumusha game, and another Resident Evil spin off, or something close.

I personally would love something along the lines of Strider, Mega Man (No Star Force rubbish) or Breath of Fire. I would only be kidding myself though, thus I dropped hope for these games a long time ago...

I am so excited for Dark Void. I've always thought that a Rocketeer game would be amazing, and this is pretty much as close as they could get without a copyright infringement.

I'd argue this might even be better then a direct rocketeer game, I mean sure we lose Nazi's to robots, but on the upside we get Nicola Tesla.

Power stone would be awesome... or maybe Cannon Spike!

I'm surprised they're going to showcase the PSP version of Fate/Unlimited Codes. If they intend on localizing Fate/Unlimited Codes, I would much prefer they do it to the PS2 version.

As for the mystery games, I'm hoping its a new Darkstalkers fighter. I remember hearing a statement made by Capcom in which they said if Street Fighter IV was a success, they're next project would be a Darkstalkers game.

That'd be awesome, it's about time they update that **** Morigan sprite. It always looked so out of place in any of the crossover games.
