We've been focusing on particular topics in the last few PALGN podcasts, but this week we return to Random Walk, discussing anything and everything that pops into our brains. In Episode 60, Anthony, James and Denny talk about gameplay that seems more like work than fun, comedy as a genre in videogames and LAN cafes. Coming in at 30 minutes, we ponder how you sometimes have put in the hard yards before getting to the fun part of a game, scripted and user-generated humor, and why LAN cafes may be the new gaming arcades.

OMG you guys talked about comedy in games without even mentioning TellTale or Sam and Max. S&M seasons 1 and 2 are some of the funniest games I've ever played. Almost as good as the Monkey Island games.

When you guys were talking about 'work' in games I was thinking Havest Moon, Rune Factory and friends. Those games are almost all 'work' but still strangely addictive and somewhat fun.

Good episode! And I second the L4D PC gathering =)
