This Week's Releases - 11/5/09

PALGN Feature | Readying for battle.
Starting off the week, Demigod is released on PC. The game mixes action, strategy and role-playing, with players first choosing a Demigod to lead their forces into battle. After the fight begins, you must gain control of key strategic points on the map in order to push the enemy back. As the battle rages, each Demigod can level up, gaining new powers and abilities to help their support troops. The latest title from Gas Powered Games features a persistent single-player universe and allows players to join with other Demigods in online multiplayer. Demigod is scheduled to invade store shelves this Thursday.

Next up is Battle Fantasia on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, from the team behind the Guilty Gear series. With a cast of manga-inspired characters, the arcade fighter takes more of a role-playing approach than that of a traditional fighting game. For example, instead of the usual health bar, fighters have hit-points that drain away as they take damage. Battle Fantasia supports a number of modes, including story, practice, survival, time attack, versus and online multiplayer, and is also set for released on Thursday. Our reviews of Demigod and Battle Fantasia will be online soon.

If you still haven’t caught them all, Pokemon Platinum may be on your buying list this week. The Nintendo DS game includes the Battle Frontier, holding five new Battle Facilities for Pokemon trainers to challenge, each with its own special rules. Finally, Silent Hill: Homecoming arrives on Xbox 360 (our review of the PlayStation 3 version can be read here), and Pikmin 2 comes to Nintendo Wii.

Pikmin 2 for me, I have only waited around 5 years to play it.

I was so looking forward to Lux Pain, but after reading reviews of the terrible localisation I guess I will have to pass. *sigh*

I'm picking up Pikmin 2, and possibly Populous.

Coming next week Bionic Commando? I barely knew about this game due to the lack of hype.

"Coming next week Bionic Commando? I barely knew about this game due to the lack of hype."....first review on Game Rankings isn't very good either for it.

^ Because we already imported it?

But does that mean I will have trading issues between all my pokemon games because they are from various regions? EEK!

Hmm, I'm wondering if Battle Fantasia is worth getting cause of the TE Stick??

Nothing that interests me until Prototype and potentially Fuel. All on the PS3.

It got pretty nailed in the reviews, but it looks interesting. What worries me it was release last September in the US, so maybe it's going to be a 6+ month turn around for BlazBlue to be release here as well....
