Courtney Love angry with Activision

PALGN News | She's going to 'sue the s***' out of them.
Courtney Love, musician and widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, has hit out big time at Activision over Cobain's virtual appearance in Guitar Hero 5.

"For the record, this Guitar Hero s*** is breach of contract on a bully's part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," Love posted on her Twitter. "We are going to sue the shit out of Activision. We being the Trust, the Estate, the LLC, [and] the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises."

"FOR THE RECORD I DID NOT APPROVE KURT'S AVATAR FOR GUITAR HERO 5," Love posted in upper case. "I think Kurt would despise this game alone, let alone this avatar [being in it]."

Incidently, Guitar Hero 5 is out next Wednesday on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2.

I think it's not so much the fact his song was used; but his image. Personally I just think she's wound a little too tightly. But we can only see what will happen.

YES! This could become epic! Finally something huge on this front!

Mega64 are gonna love this, then hopefully there'll be epic fallout on Activision's behalf (they need to lose some money, seriously)... RETRACTION would be magic! Comic gold!

All the kids who would refuse to update their GH5 because they want to keep the version with Cobain in it!

This could be the biggest thing in the last two years or so!

Courtney Love is a dickhead, nuff said.

Her tone seems fabricated, its almost as if in her response she is forcing herself to be angry, rather than actually genuinely caring for her husband of late.

Now comes the question, who can own an individual?

Heh, I'm with GoldenEye, this is just hilarious, love it when the entertainment industry turns on itself. My bet is that he would have been fine with it, but Courtney just wants more Moolah.

She's a total freak.
However she is right in saying: "I think Kurt would despise this game alone, let alone this avatar [being in it]."

Regardless of how much she is overreacting, I hope Activison get sued big time and wake up and realise that they aren't the second coming of Christ to the video game industry.

Is there a videogame company that gamers don't hate?

And let it be noted in history that this is the first sensible thing Courtney Love has ever done.

I can't believe Activision didn't seek approval to have a celebrity in their game. What were they thinking?

When the entertainment industry turns on itself, we all lose.
Having game publishers bogged down in legal proceedings does no good for us gamers. Just look at Brutal Legend.
Seems unlikely that she would not have been aware of what she signed away, and even if she was it really doesn't matter. Unless there was some sort of misrepresentation on Activision's part she will be bound to what she signed. Not their fault if she chose not to read the contract.

What are the odds that Activision gave her more money to create some controversy about it? Any publicity is good publicity.

And why would she be angry? She's the one who killed Kurt.

incorrect. the first sensible thing she did was record 1991's "Pretty on the Inside". incredible album that.

then after that it was all down hill really.
