PALGN Feature | Racing to the border.

With Sony catching the spotlight last week with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, it's Microsoft's turn to take the podium with Forza Motorsport 3 on Xbox 360. The game promises over 400 of the world's finest cars on more than 100 of the globe's most recognised racing tracks. Forza Motorsport 3 won't be exiting the garage until this Friday, so in the meantime, you can decide whether to pick up the standard or Limited Edition. The latter comes fuelled with a Forza-branded USB drive, VIP membership, exclusive car pack and dashboard theme.

The next game aiming for out attention this week is Gearbox Software's Borderlands. Best described as a first-person shooter with role-playing elements, the game gives players a plethora of fetch quests and a colossal armoury of guns to choose from. With a unique visual style and four-player co-op, Borderlands is definitely looking promising. For our thoughts on the game, check our recent preview. Borderlands is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this Friday.

Wrestling fans can get their next videogame fix when WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 barges onto every console and portable gaming platform. For an in-depth look at the latest instalment, check out the preview by local wrestling aficionado Luke M.

Wrapping up the week are two games for Nintendo DS, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, both of which can be found on store shelves from Thursday.

I think borderlands pc is for next week. Tuesday about 5am it should be available on steam! God this wait is going to be shocking....

Joseph, Play-Asia have been terrible for me lately. Saying an item is in stock, then confirming it when I asked via email to double check, then taking my full payment and suddenly moving it to 5-15 days.

Then when one of my items arrived in stock and I was still waiting for the other, they sold my first item to someone else, which as I'd paid full price for they should have kept holding it for my order.

4 and a half weeks later I still didn't have my stuff so they sent half out and refunded the rest.

I don't think I'll ever use them again.

Back on topic, the GameTrailers review of Borderlands made it look pretty average imo. Like a 5 year old engine in terms of models and lack of animation, hidden behind the cell shading. Think I'll wait till it's cheaper.

Its always been the 23rd for Europe/Australia.

JB typod their latest catalogue. they even have signs up in store saying its a mistake.

Though chances are it will break street date anyway and will be out. I reckon it could break tomorrow, there are people that have already got it, in the mail and in stores.

starting to think it was a bad idea ordering Kingdom Hearts - 365/2 from CDwow. Wanted to get Rock Band 2 though. Could have gotten it today when i was in melbourne

Whats borderlands???

Just kidding seeings its got advertising all over this site lol. Should be a fairly fun game to play with some friends on xbox live. Not game of the year but still looks fun.

nah it came out last week. think jb/game just put up a later date since their stock came in late.

also is borderlands definately friday? most recent eb email says wednesday for some reason.

I've heard that EB/GAME/JB will sell as soon as stock arrives - most likely today.

Same here. I read that the single player is enjoyable if you like that gameplay style, but otherwise it's nothing to write home about. I think it's more about the multiplayer, which unfortunately doesn't interest me.

I might give it a rental.

Yeah that's exactly why for me too. I also read that the story isn't very good and the appeal is about how many guns there are and everything which doesn't really interest me either. Also you can't customize characters much (this is all from the IGN website)

On the other hand I think it looks (visually) attractive in an artsy kind of way and not too gloomy like Fallout 3 was, and the game has a good sense of humour too.

Maybe i'll wait for more reviews!

The guns thing I also don't understand. Who in the hell wants 8000 bajillion guns or whatever? If a game contains 30 or 40 weapons I scarely use them all.

And the back tracking and wandering makes it less appealing too.

Went to EB and they were sold out of the PS3 version, so maybe Nov 30 is when they are getting more stock. I ended up getting my copy from GAME.

And yes, Borderlands has been seen in the wild. Nice boxart.
