This Week's Releases - 23/11/09

PALGN Feature | Play it again.
This week, it's the battle of the bands as the music genre lets loose on consoles. First up is Band Hero on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii, available on its own or bundled with a drum kit, guitar and microphone. The game features the likes of Taylor Swift, No Doubt and Lily Allen, and is compatible with all Guitar Hero instruments. LEGO Rock Band is also on the cards, allowing players to customise their own brick avatars as well as their entire blocky band. LEGO Rock Band can be found on Xbox, PS3, Wii and DS from Wednesday. Finally, Microsoft launches the next instalment in its own musical franchise, titled Lips: Number One Hits on Xbox 360, while SingStar aficionados can find SingStar: Boy Bands vs Girl Bands on PlayStation 2.

Capcom brings the follow-up to its zap-tastic Wii shooter Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, eerily named Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Players can relive scenarios from the classic Resident Evil back-story, such as Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy's escape from Raccoon City. The game allows you to customise weapons according to the mission, and to make shooting hordes of undead a little easier, players can link up with a friend in 2-player co-op. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles can be found lurking in stores on Thursday, either by itself or bundled with the Wii Zapper.

Indiana Jones swings back into action with LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues on Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS and PC. Players can relive scenes from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the classic Indy films, and even create their own LEGO levels and environments. Finally, anyone with a PlayStation 3 can tun it into a Digital Video Recorder by hooking it up to the new PlayTV device, which is released this Thursday.
