DLC for Assassin's Creed 2

PALGN News | Pretend to be shocked.
In a rather brief media release issued today, Ubisoft has announced not one, but two downloadable content packs will be released early next year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the highly-regarded Assassin's Creed II.

The first of the DLC will be released in January, and will be entitled 'Battle of Forli', and the second - 'Bonfire of the Vanities', will be released in February.

No further information was given in the release about what the DLC packs may contain, only that "More info on the DLC to be announced in late December." We'll keep all of you assassins-in-training posted.

Ja; still it'd be good. Just hope they add in a few more nice rewards. That said these are both the events that Samuel mentiioned before you start Sequence 14 IIRC so it's most likely is.

I'm just hoping they were pulled due to time constraints and not to milk more money out of us. Guess it depends how big the downloads are.

The game is quite enormous as it is - and represents a fully-featured, lengthy, and satisfying experience. I don't begrudge them holding back a bit of content in this instance.

Playing through and absolutely loving this exceptional title.
So any more offerings will be gladly received in my opinion. icon_razz.gif

I thought the game was great.

I'm living in a dream but I wish they would unlock Rome! That would be awesome!

I have a recollection of reading somewhere that the DLC is around 1gb per add-on for this. So they're not small...

I read that on Kotaku.

I hope its not poor taste to link to a competing journalism site :S
Sorry guys, PALGN FTW!!!

What are ya talking about, people link to kotaku here all the time.

Hmm, i like the sound of 1gb, sounds like a meaty chunk of content...

Maybe its just me (and this is not a rant about this specific announcment) - but I can see DLC becoming a sales hinderance. Am I alone in deciding to put of buying AAA releases at launch and waiting for either the budget re-release to get the dlc in one bite (particularly when the dlc adds content within a game requiring a 2nd playthrough to appreciate if already played) OR waiting for a GOTY edition?

I understand that in the "old" days an expansion pack was released 4-6 months after release (with a "gold" edition not long thereafter) and DLC has largely replaced this exercise, but these DLC usually added OPTIONAL quests to a complete experience in contrast, rather then completing an partially told story as seems to be more common in DLC. And don't get me started on making single player content store exclusive........
