Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Announced

LucasArts has announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is currently in development with a 2010 release window.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was released in 2008 on all consoles and handhelds, giving players the chance to experience the true potential of the Force. We were quite impressed by the game when it was released. Set between Star Wars Episodes III and IV, The Force Unleashed charted the story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, Starkiller, and the birth of the Rebel Alliance. It may then come as a surprise that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will continue the story of Starkiller, considering his fate at the end of the original.

LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez is pleased to continue The Force Unleashed saga. "Executive Producer Haden Blackman and his team have been able to build on the core foundation of the award-winning original and create a powerful combination of engrossing story-telling and intense action. The Force Unleashed II gives fans an opportunity to wreak havoc on an even greater scale in the Star Wars universe," he said.

Platform availability and an exact release date is yet to be announced. In the meantime, fans can check out Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II’s official website at www.unleashed2010.com.

SW:TFU - Ultimate Sith Edition was released on Steam today. It's streets ahead of the Wii version, and just an excellent incarnation of a great game. Looking forward to what TFU II will bring on the back of this trailer!

Looking forward to this, the first one was a very solid action game where you really felt like a powerful force/lightsaber user taking on the universe. Here's hoping the second one is even bigger and better.

Hear hear. Looking forward to this.

I played the demo of the original and didn't like it, dismissing the game. But when I finally played through the full version the atmosphere and feeling of being so powerful really sucked me in.
