Australian sales charts, week ending 13/12/09

PALGN News | About the same as last week.
After steadily climbing the charts for the past few weeks, former champion Wii Sports Resort has once again become the top selling game in Australia, up a place from last week. As a result, the former champion, fellow Wii game New Super Mario Bros. slipped to a still-healthy second place. Wii Fit Plus held onto its third place, as did last week's fourth place finish, Cricket - on the Wii of course. At fifth place lies Mario Kart Wii, continuing to bounce up and down the charts years after its initial release.

Making it sixth straight for the Nintendo Wii is Wii Play, which of course has nothing to do with the fact it comes bundled with a Wii remote. Definitely not. The other consoles finally get a look in at seventh, thanks to the PlayStation 3 edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, down from last week's finish. The Xbox 360 edition climbed a place though, closing the week in eighth. The sneaky Assassin's Creed II occupies the bottom two places in the charts this week, with the Xbox 360 version outselling its PS3 counterpart.

Looks like many folks will be unwrapping a lot of white DVD cases in a few weeks time.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.
