Play the guessing game with Ubisoft

PALGN News | Imagine if Michel Ancel was involved...
Ubisoft's latest press release is something of a mystery, because it includes little more than three rather unusual images. Instead of announcing something important through the usual methods, it looks like us gamers will have to decipher the meaning of these clues.

One piece of text was issued with the press release; "You may not know it but everyone can make it big in Hollywood....with a glimpse of cruelty!". Apart from that, this little teaser is completely open to the community. Each image is related to a movie poster, the first of which depicts a clown hinting at the next Saturday to fall on the fourteenth day of a month. We checked, and that's not until May 2011. The subsequent image is a reinterpretation of a classic piece of film-making, Jaws. Finally, Pulp Fiction is the inspiration for third and most thought provoking poster.

Clowns, sharks and dolls - make of it what you will. For now, we're going to try and do everything possible to twist these clues into something about Beyond Good & Evil 2. We'll have more information on this curious little puzzle if and when it arrives.

The 'Saturday the 14th' is just a play on 'Friday the 13th', like 'CHEW' and 'Doll Fiction'.

For what it's worth to the puzzle solving, the 'clown' is mentioned on the Doll Fiction poster, and the same surfer dudebro appears in both the Doll Fiction and CHEW posters.

Haha, my hatred of scary movies proves just how clueless I am. But yeah, the final poster holds the key I reckon...

So pulp fiction, jaws and Firday the 13th... is there any connection between those movies?

Friday the 13th doesn't really fit. I mean pulp fiction and jaws are obvious cover homages. But that's not what the Firday the 13th poster looked like? Unless they're using one of the much later ones?

The closest I can find to anything resembling that is a poster for the remake used at a comic convention as a preview.

And if they're using the remake... then damm that's just all kinds of lame.
