While most of the controller remains faithful to the standard Xbox 360 pad, the biggest change is applied to the D-pad. Gamers will no longer be forced to use one particular style, with the D-pad featuring the ability to rotate and lock into the pad. This gives the pad two settings; 'disc' setting that allows for sweeping D-pad movement, while the 'plus' setting suits more precise directional play.
Outside of the D-pad redesign, the controller itself features about nine metres of wireless connection that lasts around thirty-five hours, comes with a 'play and charge' cable for continuous gameplay between charges, and is coloured a sleek matte silver with grey buttons.
A release date is yet to be announced, but the new controller has been priced at US$64.99, which translates roughly to a local AU$72. If you're eager to see how the controller looks from all angles, as well as the transforming D-pad, check out the video below.
