PALGN Weekly Releases - 06/09/10

PALGN Feature | Feeling hearty?
Just as we prepare for the beginning of the end, there’s plenty in store to keep us gamers occupied this week. First off, the PlayStation 3 owners can take to the skies in Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2, releasing this Thursday. The air combat game was released last week on Xbox 360, when it also featured as one of our main titles in the previous edition of this article. In case one acronym wasn’t enough, Ubisoft also have strategy title R.U.S.E. prepped on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Described as a ‘one-of-a-kind RTS’, R.U.S.E. tasks players with deceiving the enemy while planning and deploying a force capable of overpowering all opposition. Rounding out the list of games on HD devices this week, Ninety-Nine Nights II battles its way onto Xbox 360 on Thursday.

Nintendo’s stable of gaming devices also share a few new releases this week. Batman: The Brave and the Bold and the official video game of M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film The Last Airbender can be found on both Nintendo DS and Wii. The PlayStation Portable continues its recent run of titles with two new additions, the first UFC Undisputed 2010.

The second new PSP title returns players to one of the most beloved gaming franchises, and is also cast into our release of the week.

The classic world of Disney and Square Enix’s pedigree for role-playing games combine once more, turning the pages back on the Kingdom Hearts saga in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. As a Keyblade Master mysteriously disappears, three young adventures, named Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, find themselves embroiled in a crisis affecting worlds far beyond their own. You can play as any of the three heroes, each with their own individual stories and unique abilities. Featuring a new battle system built just for the PlayStation Portable and with four different multiplayer modes, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is shaping up as yet another excellent addition to the series.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 9th September:

Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Wii, Nintendo DS)
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PlayStation Portable)
The Last Airbender (Wii, Nintendo DS)

Hrmmm... looks like nothing this week. I lost interest in the Kingdom Heart games after playing II. Also... Tetsuya Nomura is a hack. Bring on Vaquish, BlazBlue:CS, and Castlevania!

It's been a while, grim-one! Silly me decided to order the fan edition instead from Zen United... and they're not dispatching the game until October. icon_sad.gif
