August Preview

PALGN Feature | We look at what's happening in August.
July was a larger month for PALGN than we'd anticipated. We broke a lot of ground, and once again this was our strongest month to date. Over 70,000 unique visitors viewed the site over July, which is even larger than our record breaking 65,000 over E3! Our aims are not to match this in August, but to beat it; we want to reach 100,000 unique visitors, and we're sure we can reach that with all of your support.

Our forums are also close to hitting a milestone, with the 2000 member mark looming quickly. After the success of the Game Exchange forum we've decided to make it a permanant addition to the forums, so keep on trading!

Many of our readers have realised that our PSP coverage has stepped up in the last month, and it is going to be getting even better in August. We're going to be deliberating our first verdicts on some of the games (and some of the scores are very interesting) so keep checking back for some of the first reviews in Australia.

Whilst a complete redesign of the site is a little while off, our developers have been tweaking elements of the site to make it more user friendly; scores for our titles will shortly be able to be be viewed in one click, and readers also have the ability to filter their results by platform, genre and score. During August we will also be upgrading our server to allocate even more bandwidth, so we should be providing more media for the titles we cover.

The PALGN 12 days of Christmas promotion will be commencing again on December 1st, 2005. We aren't going to give out any more information regarding this for a little while yet, but make sure you're a member of the forums, as all the information regarding this promotion will be announced there first!

So what can you expect from our staff members in August? We're going to have reviews of Ridge Racer, Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack, Formula One 2005, Need for Speed Underground Rivals, Lumines, Wipeout Pure, Big Mother Truckers 2, Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike & 187: Ride or Die; we're also going to be launching new features and will have some great previews on some of the biggest titles in Quarter 4, 2005. Stay tuned, it's going to be big.
