Australian Sales Charts, Week Ending 15/01/06

PALGN News | The Need for Speed is still not satisfied.
This week, the top three have remained the same: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is still #1, followed up by Buzz: The Music Quiz at #2 Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 at #3. A surprising re-entry at #4 is, out of nowhere, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on Xbox. It makes for a one-two hit with Liberty City Stories on the PSP, which is sitting at #5.

#6 and #7 are also the same as last week, wth Ricky Ponting Cricket 2005 still making runs at #6, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted for those Xboxers at #7. Eyetoy: Play 3 continued it's up-down-up-down bouncing, landing at a low #8 this week, compared to #5 last week. Two more re-entries make up the bottom two places - the irrepressible World of Warcraft creeps back in at #9, and those damn Nintendogs, this time Dachschund, are back at #10.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by GfK.

A surprising re-entry at #4 is, out of nowhere, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on Xbox.

That's not a surprise, since the game is now apart of the "Classic" range of Xbox titles.

If by classic, it's reduced then it shouldn't be on the list (read: Games over $50)

Wasn't GTA pulled off the shelves like in the US for the "hot coffee" controversy? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Anyway, good to see thats back. Surprised GTA:LCS is still top 5 as well.

My local EB Games store was recently selling the "Classic" version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the Xbox console for $99.95 with a 50% off sticker. Maybe, that's how the game made the list.

^ I'm guessing it comes down to what the games rrp is not how much stores choose to sell it for. If it's in a sale it would still count.
