The game - imaginatively titled Sonic Rivals 2 - looks set to refine the gameplay of the original, including new "jostling" controls and various Battle modes, including such industry staples as "King of the Hill" and "Capture the... Chao?" The game includes 3 new characters (including everyone's favourite multi-appendaged fox, Tails) and "upgraded signature moves". A new "Free Mode" allows players to check out the levels at their own pace, and the collection card aspect of the game has been expanded, with over 150 cards on offer. The title is also set to feature single-disc game sharing.
The original Sonic Rivals, whilst far from the perfect Sonic game, had a lot of potential for high-speed multiplayer mayhem, and we'll be interested to see if these new features can make the game into something special.
