eGames 07: Expo and Game Connect join forces

PALGN News | eGames07 + GCAP07 = "game week"
The Game Developers' Association of Australia has just announced their intention to combine their industry-focused Game Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2007 conference with the more consumer-focused eGames and Entertainment Expo 2007. Together, they offer a solid "Games Week" 2007 conference for individuals interested in getting into the industry, gamers interested in knowing more about the industry, and industry participants interested in marketing their products to individuals and resellers.

Of key focus in GCAP this year are summits to cover critical issues such as growing national skills and developing an environment that encourages investment. The conference will be officially announced at an industry luncheon on the 4th of July by the Hon Tim Holding MP, Minister for Information and Communication Technology.

GCAP 07 is scheduled for the 15th to 17th of November with eGames 07 picking up the tail end from the 16th to 18th of November. Both will be held in Melbourne at the Melbourne Exhibition and Conference Centre and together, they offer one of the largest (if not the largest) gaming events in the southern hemisphere. As happened last year, PALGN will be there in force, ensuring our loyal readers unable to attend get the full scoop.

Hurrah, confirmation that PALGN is attending! If Australia can keep this up perhaps we can have the next "E3" here. icon_razz.gif to the Americans.

Sweet, that's a lot of gaming related stuff, and it's all in Melbourne at the same time! Score. icon_smile.gif Can't wait, last year's eGames rocked, and now we've got some extra stuff to check out.

nikack: Yeah, it great to see the mention of PALGN in there, very good news indeed. It's great to see Australia getting these sorts of events, you could almost call this the Australian E3.

Does one of these 'ideas' include bringing some of your loyal (*cough*) members from the other states to the event? icon_wink.gif
