The PALGN Podcast, Episode 1

PALGN Feature | BioShock, the 360 price drop, and we mourn one of the fallen.
PALGN's happy to announce that we've finally (mostly) appeased the Podcast gods and that we'll now be running a fortnightly podcast, due for release on alternating Mondays. And, to make things even easier for our loyal listeners, we've even wrapped it up in a nicely packaged RSS feed. With a bow even! Now you'll never miss another PALGN podcast!

Officially, we've always had a podcast, covering eGames 06 and E3 2007, but we figured that a year between episodes was probably a bit much. That and some of our listeners couldn't handle another full year without swooning to James' dulcet tones ...

This week, Evan, James, Jeremy, and Neil discuss whether BioShock's actually going to be all it's claimed to be, whether or not the Xbox 360 price cut will have any success in the Australian market, and we mourn for one of the fallen - yes, not even PALGN is exempt from the infamous red ring of death. Leave us a note as well as any suggestions for future topics in the forums. Be warned though, if it has anything to do with Zelda, we'll have to throw Mark back in his restraining straitjacket and give him some quiet time in the cage. Not for our safety, mind you - it's for his own good ...

Just finished listening, found the podcast very entertaining just like the last couple. Everyone was nice and clear to hear especially Evan - you have a really good presenting sound to your voice, I'm guessing you have done radio work before?

Loved the points of discussion and it was great the majority of the talk was on Bioshock because It's pretty much the only thing on my (and I'm pretty sure many others) mind at the moment. I'm pretty certain Bioshock is going to be one of the best selling games of the year, just judging by the fact that pre-orders have already ran out at EB for LE copies.

I'm really looking forward to the next podcast, I haven't listened to any decent podcasts since John Saffran on Tripple J icon_razz.gif

EDIT: Oh and yeah a shout out section to the forum members would be an awesome addition heh.

Great show can't wait for more.

How about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. I'd say that is the closest thing to a true (spiritual) successor to Deus Ex.

Nice effort boys, I agree with getting better intro music as well. Definatly going to download the next one.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that... As great as the game was, it was very much an RPG with FPS elements.

Deus Ex was an FPS with RPG-like elements, but without the stats and roll-of-the-die gameplay. Nothing in it's design came down to chance.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but it's on my playlist. I'm always up for Bioshock discussion!

Regarding the shout-outs / topic suggestions, I've created a thread to discuss it here. Looking forward to seeing what people suggest!
