Nintendo consoles to get a Rubik's game

DS News | For all those who want broken consoles.
Publisher The Game Factory has today announced that it will be bringing developer Seven Towns Limited's Rubik's Puzzle World to the masses. Well, the masses who own a Wii or DS, anyway.

Rubik's Puzzle World will be a mini-game collection of sorts, with various simple, yet addictive, puzzle games to solve. These include moving around mazes, constructing various objects and shapes, and even soundtrack creation. The game - designed for kiddies aged eight and up - will, apparently, 'look and play like no other game on the market'.

The DS version can connect to an online community, but it is currently unknown if online play will be an option. The Wii version, on the other hand, will support up to four players online. Oh, and it has even got a message board.

Given the name - and that the fact sheet gives an extensive history of it - there is a reasonable chance that many puzzles in the game will be based on the almighty Rubick's cube, responsible for a whole lot of anger, particularly in the 1980's. Over 300 million of the pesky cubes have been sold worldwide, you know.

Rubik's Puzzle World is slated for a Q3 release later this year.

Or you could just pay $5 for an actual Rubik's Cube, get really frustrated trying to finish it normally, resort to changing the stickers around, and then brag to your friends that you're some sort of genius.

I supposed nobody has noticed that the Wii version has the potential to deliver a better online experience than MarioKart and Brawl? >_>
