First Okamiden info surfaces

DS News | Set a few months after the events of Okami with a new wolf.
Earlier this week, we reported the existence of a DS sequel to Okami, titled Okamiden. Since then, more information about the game has surfaced.

According to Siliconera, the game's full title - in Japan anyway - will be Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou, with the game set a few months after the events that transpired in the PlayStation 2 original.

Painter Issun will return to the fold, while a new wolf, Chibiterasu, will make his debut.

The core gameplay will remain similar to the original, however, the DS will take advantage of the touchscreen, with players required to use the stylus to make brush strokes.

Also worth nothing is that Hideki Kamiya, designer of Okami, will not be involved with Okamiden. Motohide Eshiro, producer of Ace Attorney Investigations will be involved, along with director Kunionmi Matshuhita, who was responsible for the Wii port of Okami.

Chibitarasu? Really? How original of capcom. So our beloved Ammy had some pups then?

I do hope this game turns out awesome. I really do. Even without it's original developers.
