Mighty Arceus heading for EB Games and K-Mart

DS News | For Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.
Nintendo announced today that Pokémon fans wanting to get their hands on the Mighty Arceus, an extremely hard-to-find Pokémon, will have the opportunity to grab one for a week and a half from EB Games or K-Mart.

Starting today, until Monday 16th November, fans will be able to visit partcipating EB Games and K-Mart outlets to have the Mighty Arceus added to their version of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl or Platinum on Nintendo DS. You can find out which stores are patcipating by clicking this link. When you do go to pick up your Arceus, make sure you have obtained the Pokédex in your game, and you don't have more than two Wonder Cards.

Arceus is a Pokémon that is able to change its type, making it a very versatile addition to any trainer's line-up. In addition, it unlocks a secret in the upcoming Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver games as when you trade Arcee into those titles, you'll be able to catch one special Pokémon from a choice of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

Looks like it's a NSW thing only. Oh well I'm too old bring my DS along to a store to get a Pokemon, and I don't really care anyway.

^Actually, if you follow the link and look at the PDFs of participating stores, there's actually K-Marts and EB Games in just about every state that will be offering it. The PDFs have several pages.

Well I'm planning on picking up 2 (One on Pearl and one on Platinum). So if you want I can send one of them to you over wifi once I get them.

I imagine it is similar to the Darkrai event, in that your going to the store unlocks an in-game location, where you can then catch the pokemon. In other words, yes. One per game.

Probably give this one a miss, not gonna go into a store with my DS to get a Pokemon.

Actually, from what I've read, you don't have to catch it. In the Wi-Fi events, you are given an item that allows you to go to an area to get the Pokemon. This this case you just get it from the guy in the PokeMart.
Remember to save beforehand so that you can get the right nature if you want it! It's on level 100, so no EV training, so the right nature is even more important for the base 120 stats Pokemon.
