DS to get Sonic compilation

DS News | Out in March.

According to Eurogamer, Sega has announced that it will be bringing a collection of Mega Drive Sonic games to the DS.

The compilation will come stuffed with the Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. Shocking, that.

Titled Sonic Classic Collection, the package will apparently all be optimised for the Nintendo DS, though what exactly this entails remains unknown. However, players will be able to save at any point of the game, which is a handy addition.

The Sonic Classic Collection will be available in March next year.

Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles combo. Most epic Sonic experience. I'd get it hands down.

I will get this. Definitely. I haven't actually played all those Sonic games due to a general crappiness at them. Saving anywhere = yay!

Seriously, how many times have these games appeared in a collection or been rereleased in the last 5-10 years? 5 times? 6 times?

I wonder if you can use the expansion thing with Sonic and Knuckles with 2 and 3..

Not a bad compiliation. Would be nice if they remade the original Sonics, you know, with new sprites, HD, etc.

I collected the Sonic games on the Mega Drive, a Sega PC edition, Sonic Collection + on ps2, Ultimate Sega Mega Drive collection on the 360.

I also downloaded the games invididually as they gradually were released on the Xbox Live Arcade service (yes i still purchased 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, despite having them on the USMDC some months prior

).

I'll probably buy it, have the games on an entirely different platform - this time hand held + it gives me an excuse to fire up the DS now and then (it's collecting dust as i type).
