Europe joins Australia in getting DS price cut

DS News | All thanks to Nintendogs.
A little over a week after Nintendo announced a price cut for the DS in Australia, Europe is set to get the same treatment, with Nintendo knocking £10 off the handheld. From October 7, Europeans will be able to pick up a DS on the high street for the paltry sum of £89.

The reason for this display of largesse - at least according to Nintendo - is Nintendogs, with the price reduction apparently being introduced to celebrate the launch of the lovable puppy simulator. Thus, a Nintendogs bundle is also due for release on October 7, and will set you back £99. For under a hundred quid, you can choose from the new pink DS with Nintendogs Dachsund, or the blue one with Nintendogs Labrador.

The latest price cut also emphasises what a critical period this is for Nintendo in Europe. After the PSP's record-breaking launch in the region, Nintendogs is all set to play a crucial part in the pre-Christmas build-up for the big 'N', particularly after the game sold a huge number of units in both the US and Japan.

Read this earlier this morning; not too significant a price drop really, though I did get mine 5 months early + SM64DS for £100...
