E3 2006: Send Bombs over Wi-fi

DS News | Bomberman returns to DS.
Around the launch time of the Nintendo DS's Wi-fi service, an online Bomberman game for the handheld was announced, but since then we hadn't heard anything on the title, and most of us forgot about it. However, Japanese website Rakuten is reporting that Hudson has re-announced the title, and it now has a name Bomberman Land DS. The latest game featuring the not-so-blue bomber will even be out this year, and will use the Nintendo Wi-Fi service to it's full extent. Just what Bomberman fans wanted to hear.

We still don't have any details of the gameplay, but the name Bomberman Land DS is a hint - there was a series of games called Bomberman Land on the PS1 and PS2, which were collections of mini-games based on the Bomberman licence. But that's all we have going, so it's not much!

We'd usually say something like 'more info as we get it' at this point in a news article, but with all these pre-E3 announcements, it's getting a little repetitive already, isn't it? So we won't, and just say we did, ok?

Bomberman is the single greatest game series in the universe. I have been a fan ever since I first wasted far too much money playing "Dyna Blaster" in the arcades in my teens. If this title has a single player campain I will be all over it like white on rice.
