E3 2006: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! coming west

DS News | Wacky DS rhythm game to be localised as "Elite Beat Agents".
When he reviewed the wacky Japanese rhythm game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! last year, our own Chris Sell described it as "Currently the best game on the DS and one of 2005’s finest on any console". Well, it seems the game's developer, iNiS, has finally found someone to bring the game to the US (and we assume PAL territories), under the name Elite Beat Agents. It seems Elite Beat Agents won't just be a straight port of Ouendan, but a re-working of the original title to feature all new songs and characters, possibly designed to appeal to the US market. While this may be disappointing for fans of the very Japanese original, it's also good news for them, as Elite Beat Agents sounds like it's as much a sequel as a conversion.

More is promised at E3, which luckily is not a 'One Night Carnival', but runs for three days.

Great news, I hope there are new songs, becuase I know I wouldn't want the same game just in English. Anyway, the japaneseness is what made the game so memorable.

Yeah, I can't really imagine this game with an English rather than Japanese focus.
...
actually, I can, the Cheergirls mode. It was annoying. icon_razz.gif

It's a great game, though, so the more people that get to experience a version of it the better, I guess. icon_smile.gif

Bleh. I may buy it if the songs don't make me want to lock myself away with David Bowie albums for a week to retune my music mind.

"Elite Beat Agents" Sounds awesome. Best localisation ever.

Knowing Americas collective music taste is verging on emo.
This game could be *very* easy.
But seriously I cannot think of a single track that would fit Ouendan.

I liked it better with no comprehension of the story.
They are trying to explain a concept that is simple that anyone that cannot grasp the cheering = success based storyline by making it a SUPER SECRET GOVERNMENT AGENCY!!!!!111!!!!one
