We even know a bit about what the title will entail. In the game, players get to hop into their Arwing fighter and fight through a branching storyline of missions, all rendered in 3D. Niftily, there's a more strategic slant to proceedings now, with players able to adopt a commander’s view of the mission and draw the routes they and their teammates will take, strategically advancing across the map and taking over bases as they go. There's an eight-player mode that can be played over a local wireless connection, and the chance to take on up to four players from around the world via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Whichever you opt for, here's hoping the it's a little more engaging than the N64's multiplayer managed to be.
We'll have a hands-on as soon as James and Lahiru find a spare two minutes in their day.
