Brothers in Arms DS trailer released

DS News | Looking surprisingly good.
A first trailer for Brothers In Arms DS just arrived, and very nice it looks too. Gearbox, developers of the game, appear to have found a way to extract a bit more graphical grunt from the DS. The trailer features some impressive action, lots of explosions and the whole thing comes across as more "brothers-in-armsy" than you might reasonably expect, given the limitations of the DS.

The gameplay will, as ever, either make or break the game, but Brothers in Arms DS seems to have shaped up very nicely. Not long to wait, either - it's due in the shops tomorrow (June 7th). Download the trailer below:

Woah, I hope they can achieve those graphics and stuff without lag or gittering, if so, I'd totally buy that icon_biggrin.gif

Yea the Lag is bad. But it still would get a great review only because they managed to get it on DS.

Whats with the missile that launches and then just kind of... falls over?

Looks pretty impressive, but if that frame-rate is representative of the final product then I'll pass on it.

Too bad the took out the NWC option because online would have been good and most likely sell more.

Hey, if MPH is possible on a DS and God of War 2 on the PS2, they can make a DS Brothers in Arms. However, I would definitely expect a slow frame-rate. Not because this kind of game is impossible on the system, more because I don't think it's a developer who understands how to program for the product inside-out.

Yeah I saw the trailer and was very impressed. I wonder how restricted the gameplay is. That is how small are the environments are. I hope thats its very open and free roaming and that your not glued to a path or anything like that.

The Brett, it's developed by Gameloft, not Gearbox, who are a big mobile developer, so it's quite plausible it runs decently since they're obviously used to working with hardware limitations. Case in point, the fully 3D mobile version of the game. Actually, come to think of it, I wonder if this version is just a port of that.

It is, with some extra content. Ubisoft/Gameloft has ported a few of their mobile games to DS (Brothers In Arms, Splinter Cell, Asphalt Urban GT). There's not really a big difference in the graphics either:
