JB Hi-Fi offer a bonus Pokemon

DS News | Mmm... bonus...

JB Hi-Fi have announced that for one week only, consumers will have the opportunity to bring their DS and copy of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl into the store to receive a much sought-after Pokemon called Manaphy.

Manaphy comes with an exclusive move called Heart Swap, which trades healing effects with other Pokemon. He will also come in a special Cherish Ball, which is only available via character distribution at events.

The promotion coincides with the release of a new Pokemon movie, titled 'Pokemon Movie 9: Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea'. Full details on how to get this special offer are on the Nintendo website, and the staff at JB Hi-Fi will be happy to help if you're having any troubles.

So, go to any of the 78 JB Hi-Fi stores around Australia from the 7th until the 13th of November and make sure you have your DS, your copy of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl making sure you've acquired the Pokedex in your game, and Manaphy is yours to keep.

I have plenty of Phione's but no Manaphy...

i read the instructions and 2 things discouraged me:
- 'you can only get 1 Manaphy on each Diamond/Pearl game card' (there goes my chances of making some much needed trades

)
- 'This specific Manaphy can't be deposited on the GTS' (as if the thing above wasn't bad enough...)

what would stop you from getting one from one jbhifi and then going to another to get one?

They only say Pokedex not National Pokedex. You should be fine.

So it looks like I can maybe sit in the car and connect to do this.

My only problem is I can't work out what is worse - going into JB to get a Pokemanz or sitting in the car to secretly get a Pokemanz.

I only have the Japanese version of Diamond, so I doubt it'll work for me. Not that I want Manaphy anyway, it pretty much sucks.

Still, it's nice to see Australia not being shafted when it comes to unobtainable Pokemon. The last I remember us getting was Celebi in 2000.

Does the 'Mystery Gift' option only appear when you go to the store?

I'm assuming that's what happens but since I've never seen it before, I just want to make sure it's not a PAL thing? Cause I only have the US version.

Nintendo pulled a dodgy on this one. I went into JB yesterday to get the pokemon (yeah yeah, left it till the last day- it's the 'stralian way!) and they told me the nintendo rep already took away the equipment. I called another JB and the same thing... and that several other people had missed out as well because of this. A friend in melbourne suffered the same thing...

Shame, nintendo. Shame.
