Family Trainer coming to PAL regions in September

Wii News | Should Wii Fit be scared?
Although it’s been known for a while that Namco were hard at work on an exercise sim called Family Trainer, until now it’s been unclear if the title would be coming to PAL regions. Well, today Atari, the distributor of Namco games in PAL territories, has announced via a press release that the title will be available this September, exclusively on the Nintendo Wii.

Similar to Wii Fit, Family Trainer will come bundled with a special mat which allows players to complete different challenges by using their entire body. The game will apparently include over a dozen outdoor-based activities including river rafting and log jumping, all of which will take place in different themed environments such as a forest, a fairytale world and even a haunted mansion full of zombies. Players can also compete or play cooperatively with family and friends, as well as track their progress and set new records for others to beat.

Accompanying the press release were eight screenshots of the game in action, all of which can be found in the media panel. We’ll report back once more information on Family Trainer becomes available.

A neg for a news article without reason? Hmm, interesting.

yeah that was strange.

this sounds stupid, why can't they just use the wiifit balance board? there'll be thousands allready sold by then and i doubt you could easily get people to shell out the cost of another similar peripheral.

I don't know, but if you look at the first screen shot, there is a central hole surrounded by six holes. Maybe the peripheral is going to be more like a DDR mat or something similar.

But I agree, yet another peripheral...

Looks fun though!

And I quote:

Looks like it will be a floor mat...
Mind you the unWii thing about it is that it looks like the floor mat is corded and not wireless...
