Super Smash Bros. Brawl bargain round-up

Wii News | Smash those prices.
Its probably been at the top of your most wanted list since it was first announced, it likely made you angry when it was released in Japan and America earlier this year, and it definitely made you cry when you found out the latest Wii firmware 3.3 update blocked freeloaders. It can only be the biggest Wii game of the year: Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It’s finally hitting Aussie shelves tomorrow, and so you don’t end up paying the full retail price of $99.95, we’ve compiled a list of the current specials available across Australian retailers.

Toys ‘R’ Us seem to have won the price brawl this time around, as Super Smash Bros. Brawl is on sale for the insane price of just $76.99. With rising fuel costs however, the Kmart price of $77 may prove to be the better option for some. In case its another week until your next pay cheque, then JB Hi-Fi are offering the game for FREE when you trade-in 2 Wii games – but be sure to check their exclusions list (.pdf file) before charging into your local store. An alternative option is EB Games, who are asking for 3 Wii games to get Brawl for FREE.

Given the amount of unlockable content in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we thought that many of you would also be interested in picking up an official strategy guide. The guide normally retails for $29.95, but Kmart have it on sale for just $24.95.

Also at JB Hi-Fi we are doing the strategy guide for $20 when you buy the game. Not sure about other JB store but ours at Carindale have just put the brawl strategy guides to $20 with or without purchase.

I'm surprised to see JB have 43 Wii games on the exclusion list.

I feel that they should say "FREE when you trade-in 2 select Wii games".

Of course their marketing people think otherwise...
