is this supposed to be 2 franchises, or just a whole new sonic adventure based on the last sonic game?

I think that it's meant to be a sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings.. =/

Yes, it's a sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings. Swordplay will apparently be part of gameplay, I suspect we'll learn more over the next few months.

Yes it's effectively a sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings; Which IMO has been the better 'Next-Gen' title thus far. So I actually hold out high hope for this one.
Not to mention that they've got Crush 40 doing (some at least) the music.

time to put sonic to sleep i think, i used to love the little blue guy in the side scrolling 2D adventures......

why not just do a really ridiculously good looking 2D game and get back to sonics roots?

because that would actually be good and sega is a franchise destroying monster

think the new wario game on wii... it could be like that....
