Family Slot Car Racing is another entry in Arc System Works’ Family series. As you can probably guess based on the title, this time the family battle each other in a game of slot car racing. There’s little that needs explaining here - you’ve got two-player multiplayer and a couple of bonus cars and courses to unlock. The game will set you back 500 Wii points.
3-2-1, Rattle Battle! is yet another mini-game compilation that has made its way to the Wii. God knows we’ve had enough of the damn things to have nightmares for years. Regardless, the game features 12 mini-games which see players shake the Wii remote to have their character perform an action. Actions range from shooting a laser to destroy enemies, to bouncing up and down. The game will cost 500 Wii points.
Phantasy Star is of course the original entry in the popular RPG series of the same name. Originally released in 1988, the game follows the story of Alis, a young girl who is unfortunate to witness her brother’s murder. Before he dies, her brother mutters the words "Sister, find a warrior named Odin, he can help you to defeat Lassic!" and with that she sets off on an epic adventure. This is certainly one for the die-hard RPG fans. The one comes at a price of 500 Wii points.
Flipnote Studio is a FREE application for the Nintendo DSi system. Do we really need to say more? Who doesn’t like free stuff? Okay, since you asked, it lets players draw images on notes and put them together to create short frame-by-frame flipbook-style animations. If you’re feeling really creative, you can even add sound to your master pieces and share them with friends locally or upload them online.
Sujin Taisen Number Battles could be considered as one of the A Little Bit Of… games on the DSi Shop, as it’s actually a smaller version of the full retail game of the same name. However, Sujin Taisen Number Battles was never released outside of Japan, so its release on the DSi Shop is certainly a good thing for Western territories. The game is a puzzle/strategy hybrid which requires players to reach a target score by placing tiles of the same number or sequence next to each other. If you feel the CPU players are lacking in challenging, you can square-off against up to three friends in online multiplayer. The game is selling for 500 DSi points.
