Black Wii hitting Australian shores

Wii News | The splashdown starts this March.

For those gamers who've been holding off on getting a Wii because it just didn't come with a cool enough coloured chassis, Nintendo has answered your prayers. In a recent press release Nintendo announced that the Wii will be released in another colour in Australia - sleek black.

The new SKU will include a black Wii, a black Wii Remote, a black Nunchuck and, of course, Wii Sports. The package will retail for AU$399.95 and hits store shelves on 11 March.

In addition, Nintendo will be releasing two new colours of Wii Remotes. Pink and Blue Wii Remotes will find their way into Australian stores, as well as separate Black Wii Remotes and Nunchucks. The new Wii Remotes will retail for AU$69.95, on par with the rest of the range.

Too bad it doesn't come with the classic control like the Japanese release.

Still I wanted the black Wii so I may put one of these on lay-buy when they are released.

Nice for people without a Wii who want something newer looking. White is still hot, but I always wanted the black one.

It should have come with Sports Resort and M+. Lord knows Nintendo can afford it, and the more people who own M+ the better.

Lord also knows Nintendo dont really need to do that though

I thought the girls would like a white one more. All my precious items are white. bar the ps3. A pity we don't get more limited edition consoles and colours like they have in Japan.

With game consoles so present in so many homes these days I am actually quite surprised they don't come in a variety of colours so the consumer can pick one that will suit their decor.
One thing I like about the 360 faceplates as i have my 360 horizontal in its own recess i can choose a colour/design that doesn't scream out "Game Console Here!!!"

Exactly same situation for me now.

I had kinda become reserved to the fact that the Black Wii wouldn't be out till later in the year, and instead was putting money into holiday savings... instead now, I'm having temptations.

Instead of wii sports it should come with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed imo. I mean they are marketing it as some special edition star wars wii system.

I've got my one pre-ordered at GAME, just wish we got the UK version which came with Wii Sports Resort + and Motion Plus thingy as well for no extra price.

Toys R Us have a pre-order offer of $399.96 including the Black Wii console, Remote and Numchuck in black, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resore with Motion Plus adapter, Wii Family Game Night 2 and Wii Toy Story Mania. I am new to the whole Wii thing, does this sound like a good deal?
