Nintendo Store Update - 30/07/2010

Wii News | Test out your sea legs...
This Friday sees a very low-key release of titles via Nintendo's download services, with just three games in total. Wii gamers can take to the water with Dive: The Medes Island Secret and Family Pirate Party on WiiWare.

The DSi Store sees a single release in the form of Crystal Monsters.

Title: Dive: The Medes Island Secret
System: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Wii Points

Reminiscent of Endless Ocean, Dive: The Medes Island Secret has players assume the role of adventurer John Sanders, as he explores the Medes Islands. You can expect to examine shipwrecks, encounter a wide variety of aquatic life and even find a bit of treasure in the depths of the ocean, all across ten real-world locations. Dive is controlled using just the Wii Remote - your pointer is used to direct your swimming path, while the B button can be used to kick your legs to swim, with multiple presses boosting your speed further.

Title: Family Pirate Party
System: WiiWare
Price: 500 Wii Points

A family party game in almost every sense, Family Pirate Party involves controlling a family of pirates who travel the seas in an attempt to outdo each other in a coin-collecting contest. Other mini-games involve fighting off an octopus, deflecting cannon fire and knocking meteors into space using a baseball bat.

Title: Crystal Monsters
System: DSiWare
Price: 500 DSi Points

Crystal Monsters, developed by Gameloft, is an RPG that gives gamers the chance to traverse a vast land and capture a variety of monsters to do battle with. Along the way you will make friends and rivals in your quest to be the best. In amongst over 160 monsters there are nine elemental types, which you can teach individual and team attacks as well as combine into a more powerful form. Crystal Monsters also supports the DSi camera, which can be used to customise up to three of your best monsters.

I just love exploration games.. I don't know why exactly.. but they always suck me in. I don't have a Wii anymore so I can't buy this but I did get Endless Ocean.. wasn't terribly pleased with it but it did suck me in like every other exploration game has done. Oh well.. one day there will be an ultimate exploration game that will have everything I want. icon_smile.gif
