Six new EA titles in development for the Wii

Wii News | Popular franchises to be given the Wii treatment.
It seems so far that game developers won't really be able to simply port existing 360 or PS3 games to the Wii and vice versa; the hardware is just too different. This hasn't deterred EA however, with the publishing giant today announcing that six titles are currently being developed for the unique Nintendo console.

Already known are the Madden and Need for Speed Wii titles. However, four new games are in the pipeline, using the very popular franchises Harry Potter, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, SSX Snowboarding and The Godfather. The control methods using the Wiimote are simultaneously obvious (swinging the Wiimote as a golf club, for example) and intriguing - at this point there is no telling just what EA could come up with to add to these established names in gaming.

This doesn't mean you have to settle with just six; EA senior vice president John Schappert is sure to turn up the heat and make leaps and bounds using the enthusiasm from the EA team: "Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller."

The more games, the merrier.

Well, the entire purpose of the Wii is to attract casual/non-gamers...

Besides ugh, SSX and Tiger Woods are killer games. Bring it on I say.

Indeed. Madden is also excellent if you're a fan of the sport.

I don't see the point of sports games! It's much more fun in real life!

Never been a big fan of racing or sport games unless they've got some sort of gimmick to them such as Mario Kart or Mario Power Tennis... lol.

Well I suggest checking out an SSX game if you haven't played one - SSX On Tour is on sale at EB right now.

^ I have to say Tricky was much better. Simple/amazing tracks, they had Eddie in it too.

Well SSX3 is the only one I own, Matt, and I agree it is totally awesome. I haven't played On Tour, I just assumed it was better what with it being new and all.
