Wii to get its own Cooking Mama

Wii News | Can't cook? Want to pretend you can?
Then good news! It's been confirmed that quirky DS title Cooking Mama is set to make an appearance on the Wii. On the handheld, the game made use of the stylus and touch screen to allow players to chop, slice and stir a wide range of recipes, and publisher Majesco confirmed that the Wii version - full title Cooking Mama: Cook Off - would make use of the console's unique capabilities, with the Wii-mote key to the experience.

"Since its introduction last month, Cooking Mama for the Nintendo DS has won people over with its fun, addictive gameplay and innovative use of the touch screen," hooted Ken Gold, the marketing chap over at Majesco. "Cooking Mama: Cook Off for the Wii console similarly integrates the unique Wii Remote while layering on new features - including multiplayer and a full range of international cuisine - that fans are hungry for." Hungry. Heh.

Apparently there will be a two-player competition mode (as the title seems to suggest), as well as over 300 recipes from 10 countries. No PAL date has been confirmed yet (North America will be getting it "in early-2007"), but on a related note, Cooking Mama for the DS will be hitting PAL regions on December 8th.

Any game coming out on the 8th of december unfortunately has to fall in rank. I'd like to slice up some human before sushi, if we dont get trauma centre: second opinion is there really a chance for me to become Iron Chef?

I've read a few reviews of the DS version that don't paint a good picture. Something about lack of depth, or replay value, nothing that I didn't expect, really.

True but its unique and cute! I can take a hit in the depth department to play something I haven't played before! This kind of game would probably sell like (ahem) hot cakes at a budget price!

That could be interesting on the wii, interesting to see how badly you could stuff up the recipies or if you can make mistakes like cutting yourself.

Sony should publish a Cooking Pappas game that uses the 350W power supply to make cheese on toast. Just pre-bake the Blow ray to 450 degrees and insert your cheese and slice of bread wait 3 minutes and Ding! ....Blast I burnt it again. icon_redface.gif

There is nothing cute about cooking a meal then realising you can't eat it. icon_sad.gif
