Two new titles released for VC

Wii News | Including the biggest one of all?
Just like clockwork, Nintendo of Australia's crank monkey has pulled the switches and pressed the buttons to give us access to the latest Virtual Console titles. While there are only two this week, they are two of the biggest titles to be released so far.

The first is arguably the biggest release on the Virtual Console. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time has been released and costs 1000 points for anyone who wishes to download it. Ocarina of Time is widely considered to be the greatest game ever made and is obviously a view shared by our readers, as it polled at the top of our Greatest 100 Games Ever poll.

The second, is a title that has been at the forefront of Nintendo fanboys wish lists, in terms of wanting a sequel or follow-up. Ever since the revival of Metroid and the mystery around the ‘Capcom-Five’ title, Dead Phoenix, Kid Icarus has been constantly touted as the next title to be given a modern makeover. With its release on the Virtual Console, everyone can now check what all the fuss is about.

Europe can expect a similar update later today, though it may include some TurboGrafix goodies.

Wow 2 more must buys, Kid Icarus is awesome. I've still got it on cartridge

Icarus, definite, no argument, getting it

I wont be getting OoT, already have 2 copies on GCN discs: collectors edition and master quest (which gives you a challenge and is brilliant)

I still haven't got Castlevania IV or Kirby yet as I still have trouble finding VC cards

Why havent we had any Turbografx games released yet? is there some kind of legal hold up or are they just taking their time?

That's tight as!Anyone here given it a quick whirl? How does the vc version stand up against the original(gfx, control scheme etc).

OoT? Damn.

What is likely to be the next N64 title? I missed some absolute pearlers on the 64.

Played enough of OOT to last a lifetime. I don't expect to ever play it again. Might give Kid Icarus a go though, I've never played it once even through emulation.

Which ones did you miss?

Basically everything. I think I had maybe 10 N64 titles, at more than half of which would have been Mario or Pokemon games.

I was 10 or so at the time though, hence the low amount.

You wouldn't happen to be a........galapagos turtle would you? icon_think.gif

Cause otherwise that statement can't possibly be true.

Been wanting to check out Kid Icarus to see what all the fuss is about.

renegadesx - avoid Castlevania IV - its nothing like the more recent DS or GBA titles.

Jin66 - no Turbografix because the system was never released out here. However, it is available on the UK Virtual Console. icon_wink.gif

Yep, it's better.

I'd be very interested in the emulator job if anybody has had a crack at this?

Impression anyone?

Can't help but agree, Castlevania IV is awesome.

I bought OoT off eBay about five years ago along with a N64. The only problem was the controller that came with it didn't work. So I have the cartridge, but still have never played it. Now I need to work out whether I should just buy a N64 controller, or a classic controller (never owned a GC so I don't have a GC controller) and this ROM. Hmm, decisions.

Did someone just hang **** on Castlevania IV?

Idiot.

The Wii version of Ocarina of Time from now on shall be named WoOT.

Its not like I never played Super Castlevania IV, anyways I managed to get some points from EB this arvo and got it.

The last Castlevania DS game left alot to be desired for my personal taste, Portrait or Ruin looks promising though

Ocarina of Time is one of the Zelda games on the Zelda Collection disc for GC. That would still be the best way to go yes?

TurboGrafix games like Dungeon Explorer and Splatter House might be worth a good geek.
