Telltale comment on Sam & Max console rumours

Wii News | The duo may hop to consoles.
Among the subtle hints laid out by Telltale suggesting that the classic Sam & Max duo would be appearing on certain consoles, a recent interview with Telltale CEO Dan Connors confirms what we were waiting to hear: Telltale are pushing for console versions of Sam & Max.

When buzzed with the question regarding the recent job listings for Wii and 360 programmers, Dan Connors revealed: “Well, we're hoping to get on to both consoles, with Live Arcade and Virtual Console--I'm sorry, on all three consoles! But we're starting with Wii and Xbox, on both of their online services and retail as well.”

Keep in mind – the key word is ‘hope’. Though, if all the distribution issues are worked out – and Nintendo and Microsoft, oh, and Sony, don’t back down from the offer – then we can expect to see the series on consoles sometime in the future.

I wish them all manner of success in this - Telltale have done a cracker of a job bringing Sam and Max back to PC gamers, and the more people that they can introduce the wacky duo to the better IMO. It'd be really interesting to see how well it'd fare in todays market (the one that all large publishers claim would reject adventure titles).

I'd re-buy for the games for the consoles, if not for the ability to revisit the games from the comfort of my soft , then to support Telltale and their pioneering ways. Other devs can learn a lot from what Telltale have done with this series.

I would love to see them make Point and Click Adventure games for the Wii.
