Crash is back

Wii News | Crash-tastic.
Vivendi have confirmed that everybody's favourite bandicoot, Crash, will be gracing almost every console known to man again this year in Crash of the Titans. As usual, it will be up to Crash to stop the dastardly goings on of Neo and Nina Cortex, who are trying to transform the local populace into hideous mutants and so on.

Crash will be able to hijack his enemies, enabling him to control them against other bad guys. Each creature has their own special abilities, which Crash will be able to utilise against his foes. Crash also has learnt a few new moves, and should he not feeling like hijacking an enemy, he can always just beat them up with his karate styles instead. Of course, co-op will also be an option.

PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, GBA, PSP and mobile (phew) owners will be able to get their hands on Crash of the Titans in Q3 this year. There's some screen shots of the Wii, PS2 and DS versions in the media panel if you're interested.

No not really, IMO anyway kinda died after the original PS games for me.

It died because Naughty Dog, the creators of Crash and his first 3 (?) games on the PS1, gave up the license.

And I don't think Brendan is expecting anyone to be interested.

Wasn't Crash Bandicoot Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic?

It was a character of a series of games created for the Playstation One by a third party studio with extremely close ties to Sony. (Sony nurtured them).

It sort of became a defacto mascot, but that was only because it was one of the best selling games.

Either way at the end of the PS1's life, the license was handed over to some other studio who made a bunch of crap for lots of systems.

Unless they do something radically cool and wow worthy with the rodent I really couldn't care if he drops off the face of the silicon world.

Platform games of late seem really crap IMO and I don't see them getting any better with full 3D and dodgy/twitchy camera angles.

I loved Crash 1 on the playstation when that came out but all of them since then have had tacked on crap and gimmicky racers which annoy the hell out of me.
