LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga announced

Wii News | LEGO connects to the Force for a third time.
LucasArts have just sent word via a press release that it will be publishing LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Sage for the Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and the PlayStation 3.

Scheduled for a release this November, The Complete Saga is a port of both previous LEGO Star Wars titles. However, new levels and characters have been promised. The press release revealed that one such level would be the high-speed pursuit of the bounty hunter Zam Wessell from Attack of the Clones while a few of the extra characters will include Watto, Zam Wessell, Boss Nass and more, which will bring the total amount of playable characters to 160 (that's a huge support cast).

As one would expect, many of the upgraded gameplay mechanics from The Original Trilogy will be implemented into the prequel trilogy levels as well as a new online mode for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Unfortunately, it's looking like the Wii version won't feature any online mode but the press release boasted about the usual motion-sensing controls, and touch screen controls for the DS.

Visually, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will apparently feature new high-resolution LEGO models and characters, that are "unparalleled by any other LEGO galaxy far, far away."

“As we usher in the next generation of videogame consoles, LucasArts is leading the way in family entertainment,” Jim Ward, President of LucasArts, stated. “We’re proud of the phenomenal success of LEGO Star Wars II and how it delivered all the fun, humour and action of the Original Trilogy to the entire family. Now, with The Complete Saga, we’re excited to finally offer the entire saga playable in one package for the first time ever.”

“LucasArts was an amazing partner on LEGO Star Wars II, and working with them on The Complete Saga continues to be a great experience,” Tom Stone, director at TT Games, stated. “We’re also thrilled to be focusing on next-generation consoles and creating content that plays to the strength of each system.”

Yay! Ports.

Keep it cheap like the others and I'll probably bite (seeing as I never owned the first), though. I suck.

I am hoping it is released cheaper, as I'd buy just for the newer levels. icon_biggrin.gif Star Wars fan to end!

I never got the first one, so maybe I will be interested depending on price

Never played the first one, I would buy this but the fact that I have the Original Trilogy on 360 is somewhat of a turn off.

I guess it will depend on exactly how much extra content is in there and the pricing.

I'll buy it. Then again, I'll buy anything with Han Solo in it.

I never got either. Given the acclaim for them I think I'll give the high-res 360 version a go.

I have both the gamecube versions - and found the first the best but both are definate keepers. icon_biggrin.gif

It's a solo game though as second player is literally a drag - it doesnt work properly. They could fix that before releasing a combined package.

What what WHAT? Its all about the multiplayer. Absolutely definately. Its a nice little thing in single player, but its the crazy co-op action that makes the game really shine.

That and the cutscenes.
