New single player mode confirmed for Brawl

Wii News | Eye-candy alert.
Today's update at Smash Bros DOJO (the official website for Super Smash Bros. Brawl) has revealed a new single player mode dubbed, The Subspace Emissary. According to the update, The Subspace Emissary will work similar to the side-scrolling missions in Melee's own Adventure Mode and will cater for quick, short stories which will emphasis on character development.

"More than anything, Smash Bros. is a competitive action game. People have been kind enough to praise its multiplayer, but we’ve never been able to create a fully fleshed out single-player game," the update explains. "This time, though, we’ve managed to create a complete side-scrolling action game. It’s storyline isn’t overwrought—it’s hastened along by a bunch of quick movies."

We've included some new screens in the media panel below which show off The Subspace Emissary - just be prepared to gasp as you gaze upon what are supposedly some of the "quick movies" you'll be treated too. Stay tuned for more Super Smash Bros. Brawl updates over the coming months.

Best update so far. At least we know it's really worth the wait.

That movie might be 42 seconds in duration but it is so sweet. It took me 5 viewings to notice Peach's excellently animated expressions because Zelda was just so damn awesome.
This game is going to be so good, and Snake made the deal even better.

Ike was recently added too (Breath of Fire: Path of Radiance, GCN) and he looks awesome.

Continue the brilliance, Brawl.

That's Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Close, but no cigar.
