Wii Love Golf revealed

Wii News | Fore!
According to the latest issue of Japanese game mag Famitsu, Camelot are currently developing their first Wii game. Surprisingly though, it won't be follow-up to any of their successful Mario sports titles but instead, will be an original IP by the name of Wii Love Golf.

Wii Love Golf is a golf game (who would've thought?) that utilises the Wii remote to allow players to swing/putt their way to a birdie. Further details on the title are scarce at this stage, but the game will apparently feature anime-style characters and a range of different themed courses including a dry desert and a sunny beach.

Wii Love Golf is currently expected to be released in Japan by the end of the year. We'll report back once more information becomes available.

Wii Sports and related games are great, but it better not kill off the Mario Sports series.

it's actually supposed to be "Fore!" not "Four!".

Fore as in ahead.

/pedantic nerdoff.

(EDIT: and it's been changed icon_smile.gif )

Is that some kind of pun I'm not getting, or is it meant to be "Fore!"?

EDIT: It's been fixed now.

New gold game from the makers of Mario Golf, and Everybody's Golf/Hot Shots Golf? Count me in!

(Though, personally I'd hate to work in a company that's been so typecasted.)

exactly what the Wii needs!

Wii Sports Golf could have been better. The controls from Tiger Woods isn't the best.

Lets hope we have a good one here.

Maybe for you Mario freak. I still think the plumber is gaming's equivalent of Mickey Mouse. A really boring character that grew out of technologically restricted design. Immediately recognisable but hardly as interesting as his stablemates.

I'd much rather use (enhanced) Miis. Not Mario, not Sonic and NOT anime-styled characters. Mii Love Golf not Wii love golf!

Mario isn't even necessary in a Mario Golf game. As long as Waluigi is there, all is good. But I do agree that it should be Miis taking centre stage here rather than generic anime dudes.

Shiggy himself said, he wants the Mario Sports games to have a break. Sad, they were great, or at least decent games, BUT it was too much milking of Mario.

Though I still want balance board 1080, not Wii Snowboarding.

A milking mario game? Move over Harvest Moon I want to be Wiitnursed!

It seems we're all a bit frustrated with Nintendo's flimsy use of the Mii, sticking them only in 'casual' games instead of killer standalone Miicentric updates to great Nintendo franchises.

Mii vs Waluigi, bring it!

I misread that, I thought you said that Shiggy wants to be in a mario sports game.
Shiggy in a golf game would be sweet as icon_razz.gif .

Very keen for this. I think a fleshed out Wii sports golf game would be awesome. I really enjoy a round of golf now and then with Wii Sports.

I'm still hoping Miis will be playable some how in Smash Bros.

I'd quite like random Miis to replace the wireframe fighters. Or, even better, random Miis bolstered with Miis from your system. I'd love to kick 32 shades of crap out of my Mii with Metaknight! Or... you know, someone else's Mii...

lol if this game is anything like hot shots, then i'll wan't to get a wii. But hopefully being able to create a mii and get a decent golf game, it'll be all worth it.

Just so you know, this isn't be published by Nintendo. It's being published by Capcom.

It's going to be awesome though. Camelot know how to make a good golf game.
