New EA Playground screenies

Wii News | For Wii and DS.
A fresh round of EA Playground screenshots dropped in our inbox this morning, all fresh-faced and smiley. The title, a mini-games compilation for the Wii (if you can imagine such a thing) and the DS, will launch in North America on 23 October, and in Europe on 2 November.

For the uninformed, Playground is chock-full of mini-games based on the kind of stuff we all used to allegedly enjoy doing at school. Hence, playground classics like Dodgeball, Tetherball, Bughunt, and Spitballs are included, as well as fantasy games like 'Kicks' and 'Dart Shootout'. Is it just us, or did nobody play these at school? Where the heck is scarecrow tig?

Anyway, look - here's Executive Producer David McCarthy with some words: "EA Playground has been designed to be accessible and fun, making it the perfect game to enjoy by yourself or with your friends and family. Young, old, male or female, this is a game that expands the appeal of videogames to a market of non-traditional gamers. For kids it’s about indulging in the energy and magic of the playground; for parents or even grandparents, it’s about re-experiencing childhood thrills."

Click here for the cutesy, hyper-deformed screenshots - six from the DS version, and five from the Wii.
