Mega Man not in Smash Bros Brawl

Wii News | 'Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet' says Blue Bomber's creator.
With the third party character barrier well and truly smashed, and the number one request confirmed for inclusion, eyes have turned to other classic characters as potential inclusion in upcoming Wii fighting game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Unfortunately for Capcom fans, it seems unlikely their NES era headliner will make the cut.

During an episode of the official Bionic Commando podcast, Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune revealed that at this point Mega Man will not be there. "Well, I really do love Super Smash Brothers. It’s a great series" said Inafune. "But, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game. I’m still waiting…we have a little bit of time left, it’s not coming out for another few months. They might get around to asking us if we’d like to put Mega Man in Super Smash Brothers. Maybe if somebody from Nintendo is listening to this podcast, they’ll give me a call." (Transcription from GoNintendo)

Unless this podcast was recorded some time ago, it seems unlikely there will be time to add the little guy, as Super Smash Bros. Brawl is due for release in Japan in a month. We'll keep you updated on any Super Smash Bros. Brawl news as the release date draws near (or not).

I think that people are going a little crazy about all of these characters appearing in SSBB. It would be great to see them all in this game but I doubt that this is going to happen.

... Sonic the Hedgehog ...

I really don't think that I need to say anything other than that...

Darn, I really wanted to see Megaman in the game, he would work so well imo. I was sure he would get in, but I guess not, too bad. icon_sad.gif

They can't put all the popular characters into the one game, otherwise there'll be none left for the next one.

I remember when Mario & Sonic at the Olympics was announced there was questions about Sonic's appearnce in Smash Bros, I believe the answer was "that's not on the cards at the moment" .. so this could be a case of denial until official announcement again, but also there's no way every dream character that people want is going to make the cut.

Bugger.

Would have liked to have seen him, would of been a great character.

Well he definitely isn't in it now as the game has "gone gold", meaning they are making copies of the game to be sold NOW!
