At the time of the console release of the game, Volition and publisher THQ gave no official word on when the PC release would eventuate, prompting rumours that the project might have been culled.
Volition community moderator V-Singular quickly posted a statement - which has since been confirmed with a representative from THQ via a report fromIGN - citing quality control as the reasoning behind the delay of release and revealed that the game is scheduled to ship in the US on January 6, 2009.
"The PC version was delayed because we wanted to make the highest quality game across all platforms, but it just needed more time. Our goal is to give PC users the same quality product and performance level which you've seen on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, along with all of the review feedback. You will not have any features missing from the game if you purchase the PC version as opposed to a console version, the entire game is packed in."
Currently, there is no word as to whether the Australian release will coincide with the North American release date.
